Southern California Edison will soon start its utility undergrounding project in Villa Park beginning Monday, August 22nd. The project will remove the utility poles on the north side of Santiago, replacing them with underground facilities and some small ground-level structures. The changes will give the Towne Centre a notable aesthetic boost on the south side. The majority of the construction work will take place in the sidewalk, where the new underground lines will be covered. SCE's contractors plan to keep access to the Towne Centre open.
